ChatGPT-End Of GOOGLE?

ChatGPT-End Of GOOGLE?

Recently there is a lot of hype about ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot that was released to the public at the end of November 2022 by OPENAI. It is built on top of OpenAI's GPT-3.5 family of large language models and is fine-tuned with both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques.

Chat GPT stands for Generative Pretrained Transformer.

Chat GPT is an AI bot that can do pretty much everything. It is trained on trillions of words from the Internet. It is smart enough to understand human language and produce a human-like response as well.

Chat GPT is the real game changer. It will kill businesses soon that don’t change or adapt. It can help you with countless things such as preparing a diet plan, doing homework, creating weekly schedules, and much more.

It is worth mentioning that it took Chat GPT only 5 days to reach 1M million users which is a record within itself.

The time it took ChatGPT to reach 1 Million users

  • Netflix – 3.5 years

  • Facebook – 10 months

  • Spotify – 5 months

  • Instagram – 2.5 months

  • ChatGPT – 5 days

What can it be used for?

Some potential use cases for Chat GPT are:

  • Virtual customer service agents: Companies could use Chat GPT to power virtual agents that can answer customer questions and help them resolve issues. These agents could be integrated into websites, mobile apps, or other platforms, providing customers with a convenient way to get the information they need.

  • Personal assistants: Individuals could use Chat GPT to build personal assistants that can answer questions, schedule appointments, and perform other tasks. These assistants could be integrated into mobile apps or accessed through voice-powered platforms like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

  • Social media moderation: Chat GPT could be used to help moderate online communities by automatically detecting and flagging toxic or inappropriate content.

  • Language translation: Chat GPT could be used to help improve the accuracy of machine translation systems, allowing people to communicate more easily across languages.

· Limitations

1. Wrong Answers :

Because ChatGPT is a language model, it will inevitably provide wrong answers. Sometimes, it’s very wrong. Computer scientist Andew Ng finds it “sometimes hilariously wrong.” Sometimes ChatGPT gives the impression that it’s very confident in its answers even when it’s wrong, which could be harmful—especially because you can’t tell when it’s wrong unless you already know the correct answer, as Arvind Narayanan notes on Twitter (see below).

Because ChatGPT sometimes delivers wrong information, StackOverflow even banned ChatGPT three days ago, saying “Overall, because the average rate of getting correct answers from ChatGPT is too low, the posting of answers created by ChatGPT is substantially harmful to the site and to users who are asking or looking for correct answers.”

2. Limitations in Training Data:

Like many AI models, ChatGPT is limited in its training data. Lack of training data and biases in training data can reflect negatively on the model result.

3. Bias Issues:

ChatGPT can generate discriminatory results. ChatGPT has demonstrated bias when it comes to minority groups. When the training data is biased, the model is inevitably biased. This is a challenge faced by nearly every AI tool, and it’s important to remember and consider as we seek to ensure fairness and reduce bias in technology.

4. Sustainability:

There is a discussion thread on Twitter about how many GPUs it takes to run ChatGPT. The takeaway is that ChatGPT is very expensive to run. Given that ChatGPT is a free product, it’s unclear how sustainable ChatGPT is and how long it will be able to operate.

5. Stability and Capacity Issues:

Just as I was writing this blog post, ChatGPT went down temporarily. It’s unclear exactly how many resources OpenAI is using to keep ChatGPT up and running.

How to use ChatGPT?

  1. It is very easy to use ChatGPT.

  2. Go to OpenAI website and select ChatGPT at the bottom. You will be redirected to https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt/ where you can sign up for ChatGPT.

  3. Once done, you can enter whatever you need in the textbox and the chatbot will populate results in a jiffy.

Is ChatGPT the End of Google?

The simple answer is – NO.

ChatGPT is helpful in a manner that makes you feel as if you are talking to an expert on the matter. You don’t have to filter through pages as in the case of Google.

Despite having said that, Google still holds its value and importance as it is designed to provide a list of relevant web links in response to a query. In this way, you can decide yourself which search result suits you the best instead of the bot doing that on its own.
